The third volume of the atlas. Seventy paintings by Claude Monet in the public domain, and from each the sixteen colours that hold it up: measured on the canvas, not picked by eye.
Monet paints the same place at different hours, and measuring it shows that on its own: the water in the lilies changes family altogether between morning and afternoon, and the greys of the Thames carry more violet than the eye reports. The three volumes share one alphabet, so their colours can be compared with each other.
